The Four C's of CBC

Image
Kenya's new Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) focuses on four key skills, called   the four C's: Communication & Collaboration Critical Thinking & Problem Solving Creativity & Innovation Citizenship Why Are The Four C's Important? The four C's were chosen to help students thrive in a changing, digital world. Every subject taught as part of CBC is linked to these four skills. No matter what class students find themselves in, they will be building one or more of the four C's. They were chosen to fix the shortcomings of the previous education system in Kenya. The four C's build soft skills in students, they improve self-learning and self-efficacy, they emphasize ethics and morality to create strong citizens, and they promote creativity for a changing, digital world. 1. Communication & Collaboration We work together to speak and realize shared goals. In the past, Kenyan education has focused so much on exams and performance, that working with other...

Young People Take the Lead in Bungoma, Kenya

Image
Real and lasting change comes when young people are empowered to take control of their lives. It comes when young people are given greater access, resources, and influence to create new futures for their countries and communities. We can see this first hand in a small town in Eastern Africa. In Kenya, the median age is only 20 years old; This means that the country’s future is in young people’s hands. Empowering them to become confident, skilled leaders and advocates today can have a powerful impact for years to come. In Bungoma County, a region in western Kenya where more than half of the population lives in poverty, a home-grown, grassroots youth movement is emerging, preparing young people to create a more prosperous future. BUNGOMA COUNTY YOUTH MOVEMENT and Stage Media Arts, both supported with funds from Red Nose Day, are among the leaders of this movement. Both programs are part of the Youth in Action initiative of Amref Health Africa. Through BUNGOMA COUNTY YOUTH MOVE...

HON.LAWRENCE SIFUNA HERO AMONG THE 7 BEARDED SISTERS

Image
My dear Kuka. The Nation of kenya has lost a Hero. The county of Bungoma has lost a Hero. The Bumula constituency has lost a hero. The clan Of Batilu has lost a Hero. I being the Batilu family have lost a hero. The Entire family that directly connected him has lost a Hero. Ooooh ,our veteran... You stood on the front line With your eyes on the trophy your back turned to oppression There was never any shadow behind you Even thought you always faced the bright light. If you ever compromised your stand It must have been that single flame burning so bright Then fading away to keep our faith and sight on the National dream. Didn’t we all walk in your shadow? Hoping for sunrise to secure our dreams Wishing upon the moon to glow on our future? You walked the talk and talked the walk Ever running at times to crawl And ever screaming at times of silence Now that a great hero is fallen I see vultures there is a carcass The whole nation awash with tears Some tears from the hea...

Embracing success comes with a hidden art

Embracing success comes with a hidden art – the art of silence. Ever found that sharing dreams too soon can sometimes shatter the very foundation they're built upon? Whether it's a new home, a shiny car, the journey to marriage, a blissful holiday, an enriching course, or a well-deserved promotion – the 99% truth lies in the timing and the audience. The weight of our aspirations should be carried with care, shielded from premature exposure to the wrong ears. Often, we unknowingly unfold our dreams to those who cloak themselves as friends, only to witness envy and subtle jealousy erode the essence of what could have been. So, as you tread the path of dreams, remember the power of silence. Keep your victories close, shielded from the noise of premature revelation. Let the fruition of your dreams be a surprise, a triumph not just against odds but against the whispers of doubt.

LIFE WILL SOMETIMES ASK QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE NO ANSWER TO

Image
LIFE WILL SOMETIMES ASK QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE NO ANSWER TO… When you cannot calm the storm. Calm yourself. The storm will pass... •The world at times gets out of control. Situations and at times even people get out of control. It is in those moments that you ought to remember that you still have control over the most important person in your life and that is you. •Will you react or will you respond to what is thrown your way this week? •People will hurt and disappoint you. What or who you trusted in, will at times fail you. Sometimes you'll find yourself alone without help in stormy situations. •It is in those moments that you must purpose in your heart that no matter what life throws at you, You will Take Charge and Be in full control of yourself. • You may not be able to calm the storm you find yourself in but calm yourself and remember God is always with you. All other things will pass. You are more than a Conqueror. You can do all things through Christ who gives you Strengt...

Raila odingas stupidity of the highest order

Image
Azimio La Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga has alleged a grand scam in the procurement of petroleum products under the government-to-government deal that Kenya apparently signed with Saudi Arabia. He said in a media briefing on Thursday from the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation that the deal signed and kept secret was driving up the cost of fuel in the country while benefiting shadowy government officials. Raila claimed in his statement that Kenya did not sign any agreement with the UAE or Saudi Arabia and that the agreement was signed between the Energy Ministry and state-owned companies in the Middle East. According to me ,all this claims are just stupidity of the highest order. 1.why did Raila kept quit during BBI Scandles? 2.why did he kept quit during corron scandles? 3.why did Raila kept quit during the KEMSA scandles? 4.why did raila kept quiet during kazi kwa vijana scandles? 5.why did Raila kept quit during the pandora paper scandles? 6.why did Raila kept quit b...

My message to Julias Malema

Image
My friends. Julias Malema has been my political mentor for a long time. But time has come that we have disagreed magnanimously.Kindly send this message to him.He who hesitates is sometimes very wise. The lion is a king of the jungle but it has never been that overconfidence like Julias Malema. My dear Hero is too overconfident. He is over trusting his own mental amplitude. He is over trusting the people who are guiding and following him.Kindly warn him that the mongrels are silently watching his tactics, silently following up his footsteps, silently laughing about what will happen to him once they will start to accomplishing their mission.Kindly inform Malema to pull down his physiological amplitude level.Let's plan it together from south to north,East to west.Attacking Israel and Ruto is just as the same as piercing his own eye while preparing to start a war with the enemies in the midst of the night.Inform malema that time has not yet come for Africa. Her generation is in poverty.Sh...

SOCIAL AND EQUALITY TO ALL

SOCIAL AND EQUALITY TO ALL
My main agenda is adopting a Gramscian theoretical framework, the five parts of this volume focus on the various ways in which the political is discursively and materially realized in its dialogic co-constructions within the media, the economy, culture and identity, affect, and education. We focus at examining the power instantiations of sociolinguistic and semiotic practices in society from a variety of critical perspectives, this blog focus at how applied political linguists globally is responding to, and challenge, current discourses of issues such as militarism, nationalism, Islamophobia, sexism, racism and the free market, and suggests future directions. No peace, no unity, no coexistence hence all becomes vanity...! It's why the world is oval.
